Major: Statistics Minor: Accounting I joined VITA initially because I always enjoyed volunteering in high school, and I learned that I could volunteer while learning how to do taxes and others! It has been a very fun experience that I would not trade for anything as I got to meet a lot of other like-minded individuals who have become very close to me and has helped me along the way through college. I gained a lot of customer service skills, learned how to work under pressure, and enabled me to be thorough and detail oriented. I am hoping we are able to file more taxes than we did last year. I became a co-site as I want to make sure all of the incoming members and returning members learn what taxes are and be able to bond with one another. Additionally, I want to make taxes less intimidating for all newcomers. Hobbies/Interests: I am really into playing and watching tennis. I also read a lot of manga in my friend time. Additionally, I listen to a lot of music. In 2020-2021, I listened to 200,000 minutes of music! |

Major: Managerial Economics Minor: Accounting I initially joined VITA because I was looking for some internship experience. It especially caught my eye since I was able to develop professionally while still helping people. During my time as an intern, I gained a lot of hands-on experience with clients and learned more about taxes. VITA was one of my most valuable professional experiences I've gained through college. I gained valuable knowledge/skills and experience during my time as a VITA intern. I also met great friends and mentors. My goals for VITA this year are to continue to help provide free tax services to the low-income community and to provide some guidance to people who join VITA. I hope to make VITA feel like a close-knit community and a place where you can find friends. VITA is such a rewarding experience and unique organization that I wouldn't have found elsewhere on campus. Major: Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior Minor: Economics I joined VITA because I wanted to make a positive impact in the Greater Sacramento region. I recognize and understand the barriers that exist in obtaining tax services, and wanted to do something about the inequities that these communities face. VITA offers our clients a wide range of services from tax consultation to tax preparation at zero cost. Individuals who make less than $69,000 annually come from underserved communities that require the assistance that VITA provides. As a Co-Site Coordinator, I plan to lead the charge towards being able to provide equitable financial services at no cost to our community. Seeing the positive changes we are making in the lives of our clients has been fulfilling, and has strengthened my dedication towards improving the lives of others.
